Find fintech companies by license, funding, and hiring

To find fintech companies worth selling to, sort them by what they do with money, not by the label. A column read from each site tells payments firms from lenders and budgeting apps, and funding and compliance hiring tell you when to reach out.

try

Fintech is a label companies give themselves, and a payments processor, a lending marketplace and a budgeting app share little else. So ask what a company does with money. Does it hold funds, lend, move payments, or sit beside a regulated partner? That decides whether you are relevant and who owns the decision.

One account table carries the company facts. Blitz API's company search adds size and headquarters, and Crustdata on your own key adds headcount trends. Blitz also runs the hiring search and starts the work-email lookups for rows with a LinkedIn profile. A funding column adds each company's latest round, and regulatory language on the site becomes its own column.

Example searches

Ask for it the way you'd say it

Each example is a request in plain words, with what it returns underneath.

  • By what they do

companies that move payments for other businesses in europe with more than fifty staff

The search matches company descriptions, headquarters and headcount. A research column then reads each site, so you see why a row fits instead of trusting somebody else's tag.

  • Compliance hiring as timing

fintechs that posted a compliance or risk role in the last quarter

Each posting lands as a dated row with its link, a sharper trigger than a round the whole market saw the same morning.

  • The whole buying committee

for each account find the cto, the head of compliance, and whoever runs risk

Several people land as linked contacts on one company, which is closer to how these deals get bought.

Plays

Three motions you can run this week

Each one is a chain of OXYGEN primitives: the same hosted objects your workspace already has, composed.

  • Segment by model, not by label

An account list where every row states what the company does with money.

    1. 1A Web Research Agent column reads each company's site and says what it does with money. A Classify column then labels that answer, using the labels and definitions you write into its question.
    2. 2Review the rows it marks uncertain by hand, then copy the settled rows onto your CRM company records.
    oxygen tables promote
  • Committee mapping

A named contact for each of the three roles where the account has them, instead of one title and an assumption.

    1. 1Find the technical, compliance, and commercial owner at each account as people linked to that company.
    2. 2Copy the person who owns the problem you solve into the table you enroll, and keep the others in the people table.
    oxygen people search run
  • Round and role together

Outreach timed to a quarter where the team is funded and actively staffing.

    1. 1Run a hiring search for compliance and risk roles into a table and bind it as a weekly feed. Add a column with each company's latest funding round.
    2. 2A formula column flags the rows where the role and the round both fall inside your window. Find the right person at those companies into a people table, then enroll that table.

Who you can reach

Roles you can find at fintech companies

Reachability is per channel. Mobile marks the roles worth a phone lookup, which asks several providers in turn and finds a number for only part of the rows.

Filters you can search on

  • Business model read from the company site
  • Funding stage and date of the last round
  • Headcount band, plus twelve-month trend on your own Crustdata key
  • Headquarters country
  • Open compliance, risk, or engineering roles
  • Partner bank or processor named publicly
  • Regulatory language present on the site
  • Year founded

Funded and venture-backed fintechs usually publish enough for company data and people to be found. Bank-adjacent service firms and regional lenders publish less, and license status is only as good as what the company publishes. Mobile coverage is rated only for the US so far, on the vendors' own claims.

Data sources

Data sources and CRM connections

  • People Data Labs

The funding column's second source: total raised, the latest round and its date, tried only when the first source misses.

  • Crustdata

On your own Crustdata key, headcount movement and posting history, showing a team growing or shrinking.

  • PredictLeads

Funding rounds and named partnerships, each dated and with the page it came from.

  • Blitz API

Runs the company search and the hiring search, and is the first source the work-email lookup asks for rows with a LinkedIn profile. A verified address found there ends the lookup.

  • LeadMagic

A later source in the work-email lookup. It runs only on rows the sources before it missed, and bills only when it finds an address.

Use managed credits where available, or connect a supported provider key on an eligible paid plan. Your provider bills its calls; OXYGEN adds a per-call platform fee. Signed-in CRM connections such as HubSpot have no per-call fee. Connected sending accounts reserve monthly credits. See pricing and supported integrations.

Limits

Where this stops

  • License data differs from market to market, so regulatory status here comes from a company's own site, not a register. Check the register before you rely on it.

FAQ

Questions people ask first

Can I filter by regulatory license?
You can filter on what a company publishes about its own status, which is usually enough to segment. It is not a register lookup, so verify before you say it to a prospect.
Why is funding a weak trigger on its own?
Money arrives months before it is spent, and every vendor sees the round at once. Pair it with a role opening or a shipped product change and the window narrows.
Who owns the decision at a fintech?
Usually more than one person. Engineering, compliance, and finance each hold a veto, so resolve all three and open with whoever owns the problem you solve.
How do I handle companies that are fintech in name only?
Classify from the site, not the category tag. A column stating what the company does with money separates a payments business from a marketing page with a waitlist.
Can I keep a watch on a segment?
Partly. A company search pages through one fixed list and stops when it runs out, so it does not watch for new entrants. A hiring search keeps running: bind it as a feed, and new postings land on a schedule under a cap you set. Five cycles in a row that add nothing stop the feed, so a dry list is not billed again.
Do you cover markets outside the United States?
Yes for company search, which filters by headquarters country. Contacts are less certain. Phone coverage is rated usable only in the US, on the vendors' own claims, and work email is not rated in any market yet. Test a sample in each market before a full run.
